Leah Watson Pritchett Award
The Leah Watson Pritchett award was established to recognize a member of MY MS FAMILY who carried the passion and commitment of MY MS FAMILY. Leah did that every single day by helping people with MS. Leah always thought of everyone else first; about their care, about making other lives more manageable and making sure everyone felt wanted and safe amongst us.
There was one time when we were raising funds to hold a seminar and Leah held a garage sale and donated all the funds to our chapter so that we could buy necessities for the seminar. That is who Leah was, and still is to all of us! Leah wore her emotions on her sleeve. Even though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on within all of us. She will always be one of our MY MS FAMILY members.

2024 Recipient of the Leah Watson Pritchett Award
ELEGANCE: This year’s recipient of the Leah Watson Pritchard is the definition of Elegance! Her gracefulness, stylish, refined, and compassionate and the touch of an Angel are all the traits that Leah exuded, and this year’s recipient too holds these incredible traits. Her presence when she walks into the room demands attention!
Why do we recognize one of our members each year? For those who never knew Leah, she was an important member of MY MS FAMILY as from the beginning she worked side by side with us because she understood what it meant to help those in need. You never needed to ask Leah if she could help. Leah was always offering to help no matter on the task or length of time Leah was always there.
Several years ago when we held Leah’s memorial at her favourite park, it was raising, very cloudy but as we started our celebration of life for Leah, the sun came from behind the clouds and the rain had stopped. We knew Leah had something to do with the sunshine. She was our sunshine and her light still shinning bright in many of our hearts. For those who knew Leah she touched our hearts.
This years recipient is truly worthy of this recognition. I know she has graced us many times with her love and compassion towards us living with MS and has always stepped up to help us when needed.
Without further ado Lets all show our gratitude to Sonja Veg!!!!

A Poem Written by Leah
When I come to the end of my journey, and I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned, and remember only MY smile.
Forget unkind words I have spoken; Remember some good I have done,
Forget that I ever had heartache, and remember I’ve had loads of fun.
Forget that I’ve stumbled and blundered, and sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles, and won, at the close of the day.
Then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day
