Funding Opportunities
Equipment Program
Equipment, such as wheelchairs and for people with physical disabilities can be terribly expensive. Often the Province of Ontario will fund 75% of the cost through their Assistive Devices Program. We try to help with some or all of that 25% to alleviate the financial pressure for the family. We also accept donations of gently used equipment that can be repurposed for one of our My MS Family members.

When your energy is significantly limited, it’s not uncommon to have to choose between cleaning the house or going outside to play with your kids. You can’t possibly do both. Or, your balance is so bad that you can’t do any kind of stretching, reaching or standing in one spot too long, without falling over. Hence, we fund house cleaning or other home-maintenance activities.
Long-Term Objectives
It’s painfully clear to people in York Region and further north that we need a rehabilitation facility in York Region. Requiring people who are injured or sick to get to Toronto for rehab isn’t working for us anymore. With the assistance and support of multiple levels of government, we propose to establish a facility in York Region that also provides accessible housing opportunities for those in rehab.

Every day someone is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and the journey that a newly diagnosed member will face is uncertain and unpredictable. This is where MY MS FAMILY steps up with a hand up to guide the new member through the MS Maze to bring comfort and support to that person and to their immediate family.
