A Letter of Gratitude to Rama Gaming House & OCGA
We are teachers, bus drivers, lawyers, truckers, doctors and nurses, students, politicians, caregivers, and everyday citizens. We are historically impacted by this disease mostly in our career and family-building years, but in recent years, in our youth and childhood as well. No matter our culture, age, religion, or gender, we all share one truth: we live with Multiple Sclerosis, and as a family unit, we support each other.
Our mission is to guide our fellow MY MS FAMILY members through the maze of barriers and obstacles we all encounter, providing the resources and tools needed to live life with MS — on their terms.
To achieve our mission, we are privileged to be a participant vendor at Rama Gaming House Scarborough and Ontario Charitable Gaming Associates (OCGA). The funds raised through our participation at Rama Gaming House allow us to support Multiple Sclerosis research and rehabilitation, and to offer financial assistance to those living with MS. Many medical devices and personal hygiene products are too expensive for individuals with MS to afford but through funds generated from our gaming participation, MY MS FAMILY is able to fulfill our mission.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association and Rama Gaming House for your belief in our organization. Your partnership allows us to enhance the lives of those living with MS, giving them the assurance that they are cared for and the opportunity to live their lives with dignity.
With sincere appreciation,
MY MS FAMILY

Petition for Disability Insurance
- Many Canadians living with disabilities live below the poverty line and cannot afford necessary disability-related care, it is evident that the financial burden of disability should not be borne solely by individuals living with disabilities, their families, or their supporters, and, instead, this cost should be shared by the larger Canadian society to ensure equity and support for all;
- Existing social disability programs in Canada are grossly inadequate in addressing the comprehensive needs of individuals living with disabilities, and it is crucial to establish a federal National Disability Insurance Plan (NDIP) to ensure consistent, reliable, and comprehensive support services across the country, enabling individuals living with disabilities to live independently and with dignity; and
- The establishment of the NDIP would provide essential services, including income support, paid caregiving, home and vehicle modifications, professional services such as physiotherapy, counseling, and occupational therapy on a non-means-tested basis (not based on income), and it would help address the high poverty rates and financial hardships faced by many Canadians living with disabilities, ensuring compliance with Canada’s obligations under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (section 7), the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the UN International Covenant on Economic Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
