Welcome letter for Flag Raising Event Town of Newmarket

Deputy Mayor Tom Vegh, Town Councillor Ward 2, Victor Woodhouse, Town Councillor Ward 5 Bob Kwapis, Town Councilors Ward 7 Christina Bisanz, for your support and for joining forces with the MY MS FAMILY Chapter in helping us in obtaining our GOALS! York Region is one of Canada’s fastest growing regions, and every week our membership grows with someone else being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. By creating awareness of MS, we will be able to increase our funding for our members. 

The York Region MY MS Family Chapter welcomes each and one of you to the 1st Town of Newmarket MS Flag Raising Event. It’s an exciting and important time for the Chapter as we build awareness and reach out to the citizens of Newmarket and to its surrounding areas, to help and support those living with MS through their day to day journey. The definition of a Tradition is to pass down within a group, organization and society a symbolic meaning and historical significance to reflect values to the community. The MY MS FAMILY Flag, flying high at the Newmarket Town Hall will be a beacon that we here to raise awareness and much need funds to find a CURE for this debilitating disease. We will tear down barriers, build bridges, and to deliver hope and encouragement to all citizens living with MS.

Let me give you a brief update on where we are today. Our York Region MS Chapter consists of over 400 members. Multiple Sclerosis is not an individual disease. MS also affects the family and friends of those affected by MS. Therefore our membership exceeds thousands. Our focus is to help our members with accessibility needs as well their emotional needs. 

We need your help and support! You have heard it takes a village to raise a child. It takes an organization and a city with dedicated citizens to help those in need. This is the reason why we are here today. We are very proud to be associated with such a forward thinking compassionate and consciences community like The Town of Newmarket

Collectively as community we can create and implement a platform that we will continue to strive for the ultimate cure. In the meantime we will continue to provide help to those individuals affective by MS and their family.
