It is with profound sadness that the family of Deborah Cross (neé Richardson) announce her passing on August 31st, 2024, at the age of 68, due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Stephanie Cross (Chris Ling) and Nicola Snow (Tony); grandchildren Shannon Ling, Mya Snow, & Adrian Snow; sisters Julia Lockie (Dave) and Andrea Backhouse (Dave); her nieces and nephews; and her friends at Sherwood Court Long Term Care Home.
Deborah was predeceased by her parents, Rick and Colleen Richardson, and her parents-in-law, Albert and Nola Cross.
Deborah spent most of her life living in Ottawa, before moving to Maple in 2012. She was an avid sports fan who spent many hours cheering on her beloved Ottawa Senators, Ottawa Rough Riders, and Toronto Blue Jays. She was the proud president of the Sherwood Court Residents’ Council for 12 years, where she was valued for her leadership, kindness, and support of her fellow residents. Most importantly, Deborah was an exceptional mother and grandmother who doted on her daughters and grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 28th at 11am, at King City United Church. (#1 – 50 Elizabeth Grove, King City, Ontario, L7B 1H7)
If so desired, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada in Deborah’s name.
