VAUGHAN & ASSOCIATES – Financial services for Families affected by Disability

Our mission is to take our clients from where they are now to a stronger financial position. We use our professional expertise in the areas of finance and life skills to achieve this mission. In order to reach these goals, Vaughan & Associates have been offering services to clients for more than 2 decades. Over these years we have established long lasting relationships with the people we have assisted through integrity and trust. We have developed a proficiency that enables us to align ourselves in many areas of service. This allows us to extend a helping hand to our clients, thereby improving the quality of their lives.

Our services include:

Life insurance: including clients with MS and Family members to ensure financial support to the family

Investment Assets plans: that are exempt from ODSP restrictions, including inheritances, bi pass probate cost and provide death benefit guarantees.

Disability Tax Credit Refunds: We have come to understand that those affected by a disability could use our guidance in qualifying for the government program and we have successfully had more than 2000 families approved

Registered Disability Savings plan:  We source and provide these unique Government plans and instruct clients how to achieve maximum Government Grants and Bonds

Personal & estate Planning: used to guide families toward a sustainable income and effective estate planning.

These particular areas can give comfort to the families of those who are faced with day to day trials and difficulties in their lives.

We, under our Families Affected by Disabilities (FAD) Program, are proud to work in association with such organizations as: · YORK REGION MY MS FAMILY COMMUNITY · Canadian Mental Health Association · Community Care Access Centre · Canadian Centre for Abuse · Awareness Brain Injury Association

Disability tax credits are processed by our associate company, Alquest Financial in conjunction with Vaughan and Associates.

Disability tax credit qualifiers:

Vision Visual: acuity in both eyes is 20/200 (6/60) or less on the Snellen Chart or your field of vision is 20 degrees or less.

Speaking: You must rely upon other means of communication such as sign language or a symbol board You must repeat words or sentence several times and as a result it takes you longer than an average person to make yourself understood.

 Hearing: You must rely completely on lip reading or sign language, despite using a hearing aid, in order to understand a spoken conversation. People must raise their voice or repeat words or sentences several times so you require extra time to understand what people are saying.

Walking: You must rely upon a wheelchair or scooter outside of the home. You are able to walk 100 meters (one city block) but only by taking a significant amount of time, stopping due to shortness of breath or pain, all or substantially all the time. You experience several episodes of fatigue, ataxia, lack of coordination and problems with balance.

Mental functions: such as requirement for Prompting, forgetfulness, overwhelming, poor judgement
